Meet your Bliss Catamaran crew: Gary McKinnon and Angie Webber

Bliss Crew 1Gary hails from Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, where, as ayoung lad, his love for the ocean was quite evident as his parents would often have to head down to the nearby beach after dark, to haul him out the waves where he would be body-surfing or wave-ski riding!  Gary has traveled extensively and has dived and sailed most of the Indian Ocean Islands after being introduced to the yachting world by his brother-in-law, whilst sailing and chartering his catamaran in Madagascar back in the late nineties. This was the catalyst for him going on to be a RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, and now a Divemaster. After crewing on a delivery of a 50ft Voyage catamaran from Cape Town to Tortola, Gary decided this was where he wanted to be!   Coming from a strong sporting and catering background, he is always keen to be “out there” doing something active, be it in the galley or on the water, under it, or on land.

Angie also grew up on the water, sailing catamarans with her father and 4 older brothers in Durban. Thereafter she moved to Cape Town and ran a successful tour guide operation for 12 years before relocating to Knysna. Shortly after that, through a mutual friend, she was offered a position chartering in the Grenadines, where she remained for a number of years and where Angie became a PADI Divemaster. She has extensive sailing experience throughout the Caribbean and are now based in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Her menus are varied and will create delicious dishes to suit everyone's palate as well as hint of very special South African cuisine!

Gary and Angie are looking forward to welcoming you to Bliss.
